Cuttlefish
These have got to be one of my favourites, cuttlefish are amazing creatures not only can they change colour but also texture, they can project small spikes over their body to blend in with kelp or rocks. Certainly masters of camouflage. They can also bury themselves in sand or gravel within seconds.

GOING GOING GOING ALMOST GONE
As well as using colour for camouflage it is also used in mating rituals or to show moods, it's just fantastic to watch the males turn completely zebra like to attract the females. This can also be accompanied by a tinge of bright red above the eye area to show aggression.
The eggs are laid in huge clusters like grapes, attached carefully to plants that hide and anchor them.

Unfortunately these beautiful animals are commercially fished on a huge scale by trawling or potting, litterally tons are taken daily in Lyme Bay and Torbay alone.
Rob and I have noticed a decline over the last five years especially at Babbacombe.
